About
Hello, I'm Dave.
I'm Dave Wilkinson. I'm originally from Manchester and now live in the East Midlands. I like making useful things, understanding how they work, and getting out to see the world.
What I do with my time
I ride a motorbike and drive an electric car, and a good day out usually ends up as a story, a photograph or both. Photography runs through all of it, from city trips to everyday moments.
I run my own home server, with media streaming, photo storage and Home Assistant tying the house together. I build small apps for the people around me, such as a family meal planner. I use AI coding tools every day, and I write about what works and what doesn't.
What this site is
It is about me and my life rather than a business. If I mention something I run, I link to it quietly and that is all. I only write about things I have actually done.
